IMAGO INTERNATIONAL AWARDS FOR CINEMATOGRAPHY ATTRACT GLOBAL INTEREST

Awards to be held in Helsinki on 28 October 2017

BRUSSELS, 18 August 2017 – Entries for the first International Awards for Cinematography have now closed with nearly 100 Feature films, TV Dramas and Documentary films submitted by IMAGO member societies across the globe for consideration by the IMAGO Awards jury.

IMAGO President Paul Rene Roestad FNF commented, “It’s an incredible response. These films are going to compete for the final three nominations in three categories being Best Cinematography for a Feature Film, Best Cinematography for a Television Drama and Best Cinematography for a Documentary Film.”

The final nominations in each category will be announced ahead of the Gala Awards ceremony to be held on Saturday 28 October 2017 at Hanasaari – The Swedish-Finnish Cultural Centre in Helsinki, Finland.

During the awards evening the winners of the first three categories will be announced along with four additional awards; The IMAGO Lifetime Achievement Award, The IMAGO Award for Extraordinary Contribution to the Art of Cinematography, The IMAGO Technical Achievement Award and The IMAGO Honorary Member´s Award.
